Bridging Heritage and High-Tech Innovation to Unlock Global Career Horizons for Uttar Pradesh's Youth
The upcoming UP International Trade Show (UPITS) is set to feature a transformed and significantly expanded presence from the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM). Designed to showcase the latent talent of the state's youth to a global audience, this year’s pavilion has been reimagined to offer an immersive, interactive, and forward-looking experience. Expanding from last year’s 200 square meters to a substantial 360 square meters, the pavilion serves as a dynamic hub connecting education, tradition, and modern industry demands.
Scheduled to take place from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, the pavilion will feature live demonstrations across 16 distinct skills. Visitors will not only witness these demonstrations but will also have the unique opportunity to participate in hands-on activities, bridging the gap between passive observation and experiential learning.
The exhibit strikes a deliberate balance between time-honored traditional artisanal skills and cutting-edge, contemporary domain capabilities. To maximize engagement and impact, the pavilion introduces several new features this year:
Interactive Skill Demonstrations: Live showcases covering 16 key trades, allowing visitors to engage directly with real-time practical applications.
The Inaugural 'Skill Manch': A dedicated platform hosting academia, skill development experts, industry leaders, and soft-skills specialists to deliver career guidance and outline future employment landscapes.
Industry-Academia Dialogues: Structured networking sessions designed to align vocational training curricula directly with evolving market demands.
Alumni Success Stories: First-hand accounts from individuals who successfully leveraged UPSDM training to build thriving careers.
A major highlight of the event will be the official launch of the Sewa First Innovation Challenge Portal by Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education and Skill Development. This initiative is designed to invite youth, students, startups, and innovators to pitch forward-thinking solutions to real-world challenges, fostering an ecosystem of entrepreneurship across the state.
As highlighted by Mission Director Pulkit Khare, the pavilion goes beyond a standard exhibition—it seamlessly integrates live skill demonstrations with interactive dialogue, technological innovation, and direct employment opportunities. By expanding both its physical footprint and structural scope, the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission is positioning the state's youth at the forefront of global economic opportunities.
